Ricky-Jade Jones produced a moment of real quality for St. Pauli, scoring a stunning wondergoal against Borussia Mönchengladbach. After coming off the bench, Jones needed little time to make his mark, latching onto Martijn Kaars’ pass before producing a perfectly executed lob from around 25 metres that sailed over the goalkeeper and into the net. It was a goal full of confidence, technique and composure, earning St. Pauli a 1–1 draw and giving Jones another opportunity to show exactly what he can offer. Even Jones described it as one of the best goals of his career so far and it certainly looked the part.
